Opened several years ago, the Tres Jardines park is still something of a well-kept secret. Indeed, a good number of people are blissfully unaware of this wonderful park that exists right under their noses. Now you might think it is pretty hard to hide a park, being big and green and all, but the town planners of Marbella/San Pedro have done just that with Tres Jardines, creating a very peaceful, private green oasis in contrast to the very high-profile boulevard, which also serves as a promenade-cum-park.
The main reason why the Tres Jardines park is somewhat out of sight is the fact that, unlike the boulevard, it occupies a location that is a little bit out of the way – on the edge of the San Pedro poligono (business park), to be precise. In reality, it isn’t a bad thing, as once you know about this great facility, which derives its name from the fact that it is divided into three vegetation zones, each with its own look and ambience, you won’t want to share it with everybody. What’s more, the park also features its own convenient parking, has a dedicated doggy park complete with obstacle course and training area (hurrah), and besides featuring children’s play areas and open-air exercising equipment can also be used for events.
You’ll love the Mediterranean, temperate and xerophyte (succulent plant) sections, as well as the peace, the views to the mountains and the charming lake with its peaceful turtle and lively duck residents. Just turn off the big Ronda Road roundabout near the BP garage into the business park and take the first right. Then follow the road until you see a parking lot. Have fun and let us know what you think.
