The everyday heroes of San Pedro!

Slowly but surely, we are going back to a ‘new normality’, the lockdown across the country is being lifted and we are already starting to enjoy more freedom. We are now allowed to see our families, get together with friends and enjoy the simple things in life. And while this 2020 pandemic took over the world, we cherished and clapped the heroes out there; doctors, nurses and police officers. But many other heroes stayed hidden and kept on doing what they do best. We are talking about the town hall employees that kept going to work every day to keep our streets clean, disinfected and safe.

The town hall of San Pedro Alcántara worked hard during the whole time, and still are working. The disinfection of streets is still on-going, and while we all kept our eyes on the pandemic and what is being done to prevent the spread and keep us safe, the town hall and its employees kept working hard to maintain our beautiful town, clean and tidy for those days when we were allowed back on the streets.

A lot has been done across town on the green areas, improvements on the beach and public spaces, sports areas and pathways. The day when we were finally allowed out in the fresh air, we were able to enjoy the Paseo Maritimo and its lovely walkways, the town centre welcomed us with clean streets and white buildings and the boulevard was blooming with flowers and clean fountains.

San Pedro opened its streets for us while looking the best it could, and we are sure that in July when international tourists return, they will fall in love with our beautiful town like we have fallen in love with it.

A big round of applause to all the town hall employees who worked hard on keeping our town beautiful and safe!
