It seems to have been a long time being built, but at last, we are pleased to announce that the brand new tourist office in San Pedro de Alcantara is open.
It is located just off the main San Pedro roundabout by the boulevard taxi rank and is 300 m2, designed to be a symbolic building to the entrance of the town.
The new tourist office was partially funded thanks to a subsidy from the Provincial Council of Malaga. The new building incorporates both green areas in the form of a living wall and water themed areas. The building provides some much needed workspace with workstations, a full multi-media equipped meeting room and a room dedicated to video surveillance.
A nice addition to the facilities is a special rest area for taxi drivers, who had requested such a space when it was being designed as they did not have any shelter or facilities a the rank, which is right outside of the new building.
The new modern tourist office provides a great place for the hundreds of visitors that come through San Pedro every week, to find out more about local attractions and the towns facilities.
Being located close to the main road and just off of the main boulevard roundabout, it is very accessible and welcoming to visitors. Previously there was a small building half way up the pedestrian area, but that was re-covered back into the local police station.
