San Pedro to be official centre of Marbella Fashion Week 2019

Watch out Paris and Milan there’s a brand new catwalk in town! Rival capitals of fashion should be on the alert as San Pedro Alcántara has been appointed a special part of Marbella’s Fashion Week in 2019.

Details have just been announced of plans to turn San Pedro into a venue for international fashion this year and a hub where established international designers can meet with new young talent from the Costa del Sol.

Last week San Pedro’s deputy mayor, Rafael Piña, and tourism director, Luis Cardo, gave detailed presentations at the International Tourism Fair of Madrid (FITUR) to outline intentions and plans for the venture. The events, which will take place from 17th to 21st July, will form the second edition of ‘San Pedro de Moda’, a successful fashion affair that was first held last year.

Julio Battaglia who is in charge of the gala event, was also in Madrid to provide details of the initiative that will “turn San Pedro into the official centre of Marbella Fashion Week and fashion in the world.” As the organising team has been able to sign agreements with respected designers from other countries, local authorities intend to utilise the press coverage created by the festival to promote local talent too.

“The possibility of integrating the young designers of the Costa del Sol in this circuit will allow them to show off their work to Düsseldorf, China, Berlin and Russia,” Battaglia has stated.

The poster that will promote the fashion fair will show an image of the wonderful San Pedro Boulevard enforcing the star quality of the town and its cultural and community projects.

News relating to venues and timings will be coming soon!
