San Pedro is best known for its central boulevard and town centre, but maybe you want to move away from your comfort zone, from the stores where they frequently speak English and investigate the surrounding Spanish neighbourhoods, which is by the way, the best method to learn a language – and to immerse yourself in Spanish culture.
Fuente Nueva is a neighbourhood filled with many small businesses and at the same time goods are sold at a normal rate – not touristy prices. This area also includes schools and nurseries, with the main San Pedro sports pavilion – Pabellón de Deportes and large Mercadona supermarket at only a couple minutes distance.
Below we have made a small selection among the many businesses, restaurants, cafés, beauty salons etc that may prove interesting:
The easiest way to get to Fuente Nueva is either to drive along C/ Castilla, with the Piel de Mariposa charity store on its corner – a charity organisation that supports people with Butterfly Skin Disorder, to find C/ Fuente Nueva at the roundabout, or alternatively go up the street just on the corner with Avenida Oriental.
