In recent discussions with the Director General de Promoción Comercial, Turistica y Eventos (the councillor for tourism) Luis Cardo Jalón, consideration was given to the most effective way that up-to-date information can be provided to the English speaking people in our community.
This week we met with Luis Cardo Jalón and his team to formalise details of our collaboration and to collect merchandise for the forthcoming World Padel Tour taking place in San Pedro next week . The town hall has kindly provided us with match tickets and limited edition t-shirts for the tournament, which we are currently giving away in prize draws to readers of the San Pedro Guide.
The warm response from the town hall in relation to our proposals has been so encouraging and it is clear that they are enthusiastic about reaching out to the expatriate community that lives here. Jalón and his colleagues are happy to be approached by English speaking residents and have agreed that queries can directed through the San Pedro Guide, and we will work with them to ensure they are answered.
The San Pedro Guide will be invited to future press and project launches which will ensure that at all times we will have the latest information relating to every exciting event in the area.
Stay posted for a series of interviews that will cover ‘conversations with councillors and local dignitaries’ in the weeks ahead. The first San Pedro Guide interview will be with Luis Cardo Jalón, the local councillor who has been so constructive and willing to embrace our working relationship.
