In recent times Spain has become the stage for a rather large international movement of mainly music students and young adults, and is now home to hundreds of different music festivals held all over the country. With a variety of different types of events taking place, including old giants such as Primavera Sound– the electric colossus that’s been going consistently for over 15 years now – and Sónar, which has been described as the ‘Barcelona electronic Mecca’, the Spanish music scene is quickly developing in what seems to be one of the best festival sites in the world.
But as not everyone is into the whole three-day-party experience, the inventive people of the Iberian Peninsula have come up with all kinds of different celebrations to suit all kinds of different music tastes and ages. Ferías are the best example of the classic Spanish festivities – traditional food, music and dress.
Bottom line – the Spanish really know how to have a good time!
Now the people of San Pedro Alcántara are no different to the rest of the country and with the last party being the night of San Juan (celebrated over three weeks ago), the good citizens of this small Mediterranean town are already looking forward to the next party!
The Battle of Bands IV is an event taking place on the 28thof July in the San Pedro Boulevard Amphitheatre starting at 18:30hrs. The evening will feature over 40 rock performances from children aged 3 to 18 and we’re sure all the soon-to-be rock stars are going to give their best on stage. The entire show will feature more than six hours of live music, and the same as in previous editions, there will be a jury who’ll have the tough job of judging these young musicians.
See you there!
