Representatives of the San Pedro Alcántara and Marbella town halls were present at the recent UK tourism fair, World Travel Market, which ran from November 6th and 7th at the ExCel London. One of the main reasons they were there was to promote sports tourism on the Costa del Sol and to emphasise the fact that San Pedro is to be the host of the international World Padel Tour in 2019.
The accessibility, hospitality and quality of life on offer in San Pedro are important features that were made known at the fair by San Pedro councillor, Manuel Osorio and the General Director of Tourism, Luis Cardo.
The World Padel Tournament will take place from the 17th to 24th of March 2019 at the Palacio de los Deportes Elena Benitez in San Pedro de Alcántara, where, just like at the recent Bilbao Open, there will be two courts to offer double the excitement.
Luis Torres (Head of the WPT’s National Expansion), Manuel Osorio and Javier Merida (the town’s sports councillor) were all present at the official act, in which they confirmed that the Real Club de Pádel de Marbella will be the official host of the tournament.
Marbella also reinforced the promotion of its golf tourism offer at the WTM London with a meeting between Marbella’s mayor, Angeles Munoz, and the president of the Ladies European Tour, Mark Lightenhein.
