If you’re browsing this website, then you either already know and love this special part of the Costa del Sol, or you are lucky enough to be visiting for the first time.
But did you know that for those who live here permanently, or holidaymakers wanting a change from the beach, San Pedro is an easy jumping off spot to visit a host of wonderful Andalusian towns and cities? Don’t drive? Don’t worry! The local bus network is modern, efficient and surprisingly cheap.
Don’t miss these cities!
From modern Málaga, reinventing itself as a centre of culture and technology, to gorgeous Seville, where the tomb of Christopher Columbus resting within the awe-inspiring Giralda cathedral can be seen, a tour of Andalucía by bus or car is fascinating and inspiring. There is even a daily bus to Cádiz, the elegant provincial capital that stands on a promontory, affording spectacular sea views from every corner.
There is a bus that leaves for Ronda several times a day, the white-washed town said to be the birth-place of bullfighting. It was firmly put on the tourist map by Ernest Hemmingway and Orson Welles, whose ashes are buried in the town. World-famous Granada is not to be missed, with the architectural wonder of La Alhambra framed by the majestic Sierra Nevada Mountains, along with Cordoba, an ancient Roman and Moorish capital and home to the classic mosque and historic Jewish quarter.
