The first major event since the inauguration of the brand new San Pedro de Alcantara boulevard will take place from Friday 24 April to Sunday 26 April 2015. The event will be part of the Sabor a Málaga feria.
What is the Sabor a Málaga?
It is a ‘county fair’ which has already been staged at different venues this year, the last being the Guadalhorce Valley. Now it is time for San Pedro de Alcantara to take centre stage with over 48 brands setting up stands to show off their produce and products.
This type of fair was first launched back in 2013 and it is a way for various producers of some of the popular local and regional food brands to interact directly with the public. The Sabor a Malaga will see a great selection of typical regional foods from olives and olive oil to honey, cheese, vegetables, wine, beers, meats and much more.
It is not just about looking though it is about learning, so from 13.00 on Friday 24 April at the Sabor a Malaga, DOP Málaga and Sierras de Málaga will conduct wine tasting in a sub-demonstration called ‘A world of color and flavor’.
In addition to this there will be lots of cooking demonstrations which will include cooking shows by head chef of Alejandra Catering, Francisco Molina, and the chef of the Bodega El Toston.
The Sabor a Malaga is not just for adults though, it is also for children to enjoy the foods and learn about the methods behind their production. Citrima will be offering an organic citrus workshop which will teach children how to make goats cheese. There will also be bee keepers from the Malaga Beekeepers Association teaching children how to work with bees wax.
As you can see there will be lots to do and learn at the Sabor a Malaga being held at the San Pedro de Alcantara boulevard.
