Have you ever wondered how the paid parking system works in San Pedro? Read below to understand the different charges and rules for parking zones around town.
On the streets of San Pedro you will find parking zones called white zones, which are free for parking at any time. There are also blue and green zones where you do have to pay. This costs you 30 cents every half hour and you can pay by putting coins into the machine, then you get a ticket that you have to put in the windscreen of your car. You can also pay using an app on your phone, for example, e-park. This app is really handy as it can help you park for free, get your ticket, cancel complaints and fines, and consult and download your movements.
Parking needs to be paid for in the green and blue zones between the hours of 9:00hrs to 14:00hrs. Then from 16:30hrs until 20:30hrs. In between those times parking is free, from Monday to Friday. On Saturday parking is paid from 9:00hrs-14:00hrs, then free in the afternoon and on Sunday it is free all day.
Be careful where you park because if you park somewhere without knowing you may have to pay a penalty and you could receive a pretty expensive fine.
Someone in the San Pedro office had to pop out quickly into a shop and parked in a paid parking. He was only gone for two minutes and came back to a fine of 50€ because he hadn’t put any money in the machine.
