You may have noticed the construction work going on at the entrance to the Avenida Marqués del Duero. Where an old and somewhat neglected section of park stood, a new structure is arising that will look altogether more modern and functional. Once charming, the little park had fallen into disuse and was mostly frequented by doggies and the occasional, impromptu botellón – a gathering of youngsters in an outdoor setting.
With new green zones created to help compensate for the loss of this little one, the space will now be integrated into the broad pedestrian area flanking the avenue, which now more than ever links the downtown area with the Bulevar and is a continuation of it. This tidied up spot is the highly central and visible location of a new tourist office that will be easy to find and will hopefully form a convenient reference for tourists and local residents alike.
A modern venue, it will provide leaflets, interactive information and also bilingual staff whose job it is to inform, advise and make people aware of the area’s attractions and events. So look out for the new San Pedro tourist office just off the roundabout at the intersection of the Avenida Marqués del Duero and the coastal CN-340 road.
