New Bus Station Proposal

The deputy mayor of San Pedro Alcántara, Rafael Piña, met this month in Malaga with the section head of the Roads Demarcation of Eastern Andalucia, Ángel de Mera. This meeting was held in order to address several points regarding the project of the new bus station of San Pedro Alcántara, according to a press release sent out.

The project, originally presented in 2017 to the Highway Demarcation that proposed the location of the new bus station where the Bulevar station is currently located, had received a negative response due to not fully adapting to the provisional criteria required for the chosen location.

This new meeting has made it possible to find a path that will allow the authorization to move forward and, consequently, start the construction of this new infrastructure for San Pedro Alcántara.

Also, the mayor of San Pedro will take to the next proposal to modify the building line, so that the building built originally to house the bus station may have a different use, potentially becoming the new headquarters of the Youth area of San Pedro Alcántara.

Also discussed was the proposal to enable a third lane on the stretch of highway between Las Petunias and Río Verde in both directions. In this regard, De Mera has confirmed to Piña that the bid has already been sent to the Ministry of Public Works so that the drafting of the project and its subsequent construction can be tendered.
