New bus line in San Pedro

San Pedro town hall has implemented a new bus line, the Nº 7 bus, which connects the town’s Health Centre with the areas of Las Medranas and Las Petunias, on the north side of the town.

The deputy mayor announced the start of this new bus line, which will facilitate access for people with reduced mobility and also for other users of the health center. Line Nº 7 San Pedro-Health Centre, is a circular route and makes a tour with the following stops: Las Medranas roundabout, Fuentenueva, Pablo Ruiz Picasso Avenue, Marqués del Duero roundabout, Doctor Eduardo Evangelista, Health Centre, Avenida de la Constitution, La Colonia Shopping Centre, Burgos Avenue, San Pedro Boulevard, Linda Vista Street, Constitution Avenue, Esteban San Mateo Street, Doctor Eduardo Evangelista Street, Health Centre, the Cemetery, El Arquillo Sports Centre and Las Medranas roundabout.

As work to expand the San Pedro health centre have already started, the adjacent parking plot has been taken away, so the council has implemented this new bus line in order to offer better access for anyone needing medical assistance. This route is provisional, as other areas of San Pedro will also be covered.

The bus has the latest features in terms of accessibility and also offers Wi-Fi connection. In addition, the service, which began on 1st May, is free for all citizens who are in possession of the recently launched Mobility Card. Those interested in requesting this card, may do so by filling out a form at the Ayuntamiento (town hall) and the only requirement is to be registered in the municipality (empadronamiento).

The town hall wants to challenge all ‘sanpedreños’ to use more public transport, leaving cars at home, which helps with the environment. Bus line Nº 7 can also reach areas such as the Salduba high school and the weekly street market on Thursday mornings.

A significant breakthrough, which we hope will continue to improve.
