The Deputy Mayor of San Pedro Alcántara, Javier García, recently visited the refurbishment works that are being carried out around Calle Santa Elena to improve mobility in the area. He explained that “it is an action that responds to the demands by the residents due to the deterioration of the paving and the difficulty in accessing the car parks” and has specified that “it is part of the Urban Regeneration Plan, which it began last week and includes more than thirty civil works in the streets and avenues of San Pedro ”.
The works should be completed within a month and a half and will have developed in total an area of 609 square metres, which includes the 205 square meters of Santa Elena street.
García has specified that the sidewalk in poor condition will be raised, a concrete mesh will be installed and a new two-colour ‘terrazzo’ style flooring will be installed, but the main priority is the placement of a tactile, lowered and non-slip paving in the entrance areas of the car parks that are not currently prepared for the passage of the vehicles and in the zebra crossings that do not currently comply with the accessibility regulations.
In addition, the western parking lot will be completely paved due to its deterioration.
