It’s starting to look a lot like Christmas

Although it never snows in San Pedro and some years you can even celebrate Christmas in your T-shirt and flip-flops, the Christmas spirit still invades our little town. And it’s starting to look a lot like Christmas already.

For the past two years, we saw a giant, festive walk-through bauble that was hugely successful and received a lot of appreciation not only from San Pedreños but also from visitors and tourists. But this year the Town Hall has decided to surprise us even more and is bringing something totally different.

You may have already seen what we are talking about. The installations on the Marques Del Duero have started and from what we can see this year the Christmas lights theme was inspired by Málaga Christmas lights of last year– a cathedral inspired 12-metre high structure.

This structure will be divided into six parts and runs along the street right up to the main Church Square where more Christmas installations and lights will be placed. We also know that this year’s illuminations were created by award-winning Ximenez Illuminations, who are responsible for the creation of various national and international Christmas light shows, such as Madrid, Málaga, Moscow, London and New York!

As with previous years, there will be two musical shows held every day (the times haven’t been confirmed yet) but we are pretty sure that it will be even better than last year. The Town Hall has also announced that this year they want to install more Christmas figures and illuminations in different locations across the town.

Although the Christmas programme for this year hasn’t been revealed yet, we managed to find out the date for the Christmas lights to be switched on. So pick up your calendars and make sure to mark the day – Saturday 30th November.

When more information is out we will share it with you on our page, so make sure to check it regularly and let´s begin the Christmas Countdown!
