To all the international residents in San Pedro Alcántara, the Marbella Town Hall has issued an important notice earlier this week. To stop the spread of the Coronavirus and avoid any social gatherings and visits to the immigration offices, the expiry period of foreign citizens who are not able to return home, has been suspended.
This means that if your visa is about to expire and you have no chance to return to your country there is no need to travel to the immigration office. You will be allowed to stay in the country until the situation is restored to normal. Then you will have to request a new appointment to prolong your visa or stay permit.
These steps were taken by the government to allow people who are stuck in Spain due to the health emergency situation to still stay in the country legally and continue to have their rights.
We will keep you up to date with any other news or updates regarding this issue.
