Guadalmina is one of the most sought after and established residential areas on the Costa del Sol. Adjacent to San Pedro Alcántara, it is divided into two separate areas, Guadalmina Alta (north of the main road) and Guadalmina Baja (south of the main road). Both areas boast wonderful amenities, such as the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina. Completed in 1973 the resort includes 45 golf holes; two 18-hole courses and a 9-hole pitch and putt course.
The South course was constructed in 1963, making it the second oldest on the coast, and was designed by world famous designer Javier Arana. Laid out on flat terrain, the wide fairways sit between rows of pine and jacaranda trees, with water coming into play every now and then.
Fast forward ten years and the Folco Nardi-designed North course is opened. Despite being located on more undulating terrain with water features at several holes, the North plays easier than the South, though many golfers prefer to combine them both in a 36-hole, all day package. And as if that wasn’t enough, the Guadalmina complex offers a par 3 9-hole pitch and putt course, which is played with a number of smaller clubs with the aim to finish the course in the fewest possible strokes whilst still respecting the rules of the game.
Apart from the golf courses, the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina offers a range of other facilities such as a tennis/paddel court, swimming pool, cafeteria with high quality catering and a club storage room where members can store their golf clubs and electric trolleys.
Furthermore, it also hosts regular competitions and is home to a golf school with an array of professionals at your disposable for adult and junior lessons.
