It’s back to normal and it is BIGGER, BETTER and LONGER, plus it is now in a new PERMANENT venue. We are of course talking about the San Pedro de Alcantara Feria which commences on 17 October 2022 until 23 October 2022. The new permanent venue for feria the will be Finca La Caridad, with a space of some 81,000 m2.
The Marbella Mayor Angela Muñoz made a point of highlighting the work carried out by the City Council so that the land, which was obtained within the framework of judicial procedures for corruption cases with a final sentence, “was returned to the neighbours. In addition to having managed to build a large public facility -and the largest in the municipality- to house our fairs, it is used to hold other social or cultural events that are held in the municipality”.
Angela Muñoz said that the venue will have a main avenue with 14 booths in the form of associations, traditional and private, to which will be added a booth for the horsemen’s club with a riding school; the booth ‘My home’, for the elderly, which will have live music every day; the municipal booth, 2,000 square meters, where concerts by top-level artists will be held, and the municipal ‘palenque’ in the format of a family booth, where orchestras and dance academies will perform. We must add the areas of attractions for children and adults, fifty in a space of 40,000 square meters, and an area for food, raffles and other stalls. The CECOP (Operational Coordination Centre) of the Security Forces and Bodies will be located and 1,200 parking spaces will be enabled on a plot of 26.
Angela went on to say “We have also coordinated with the Department of Transport the permanent existence of shuttle buses from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. and a pedestrian area has also been set up so that those who wish can go directly through the tunnel to San Pedro. There will be two entrances, one through Nueva Andalucía and the other through San Pedro”.
The security of the venue will be guaranteed with a video surveillance system. For its premiere year she said”a program has been designed for all audiences, with a musical offer headed by the performances of María del Monte, Café Quijano and Antonio José, and with the leading role of local artists, choirs and dance schools”.
Regarding the program, instead of the traditional cavalcade, there will be two parades (on Monday and on Friday, with buggies, and horsemen). Children’s days have been scheduled (a children’s afternoon with the performance of ‘Pica Pica’ on Tuesday and a day with attractions at a reduced price)
