Now the summer is ending and we have all enjoyed beach days to the full, we have a few cultural proposals for you, in case you wish to do something different around the San Pedro area:
THE BEATLES VS. THE ROLLING STONES – until Saturday, October 12TH – Free entry
This exhibition showcases a collection of photographs taken by Terry O’Neill and Gered Mankowitz. Both British photographers are considered to be great contemporary photographers whose success was forged in London during the 1960s, witnessing the city becoming the world capital for youth culture and fashion. The exhibition mainly gathers images from the two bands’ beginnings, although it also contains some snapshots of later works by O’Neill and Mankowitz.
Both photographers were pioneers in their profession, publishing their images in the press: O’Neill was the first photographer to take shots of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Gered Mankowitz, one of the most famous photographers in the entire history of Rock ‘n Roll, was also one to contribute with the bands’ images creating the cover of the mythical album Between the Buttons with Jagger, Richards, Jones, Wyman and Watts.
