Chestnut party in San Pedro

The Park of the Three Gardens will host the #FiestaDeOtoño – an autumn party in San Pedro Alcántara, where around 150 kilos of roasted chestnuts will be distributed for FREE, and there will also be live music, workshops and much more for everyone to enjoy.

The Autumn Party will take place on Thursday November 1st (a national holiday in Spain) in the big park situated next to the San Pedro industrial estate. This event is the traditional way of celebrating All Saints Day versus the modern day Halloween parties, as this is a tradition that has been held over many years in Marbella and San Pedro. Traditionally known as “La Fiesta del Tostón” (tostar castañas = roast chestnuts).

The town council has advised that if the weather conditions do not allow the celebration to take place in the open air, then the party will move to the town’s Municipal Centre (where the market is held every Thursday), but whatever the weather it will take place on the same day: 1st of November in one of the two places mentioned.

A wide range of activities has been planned for the autumn festival, which will run from 12:00hrs to 19:00hrs. Starting at 13:00hrs with a concert by the great talents of the Rock Factory School, at 14:00hrs the ‘Velada Orchestra’, which will entertain the party with varied music until 17:00hrs. Also, at the same time Mimosin Animations will hold children’s workshops and a show for the little ones (from 16 to 18:00hrs).

The Three Gardens Park will also include a castle area with free access for all children, as well as 150 kilos of roasted chestnuts, plus a chocolate snack with churros for all attendees.

Just a note, you are allowed to enter the park with food for a picnic, but it is completely forbidden to make any fires/bonfires.
