San Pedro Alcántara’s Aladdin’s cave

While the shopping mecca of La Cañada in Marbella houses the usual high-street stores under its capacious roof, the town centre of San Pedro Alcántara offers discerning shoppers originality and individuality whether they are looking for fresh fruit and veg, a unique range of clothes or even kitchen equipment.

A glance at the San Pedro Poligono (Industrial Estate) exhibits a truly diverse mix of products and services though, and it’s well worth a stroll around to see what treasures you can find.

Not your normal fitness routine
As mentioned in a previous blog, the Poligono is home to Crossfit Marbella for tyre-flipping exercise fun, but they are also joined by a host of original clubs that propose something very different from your typical gym workout. Fly Pole Marbella’s classes for young and old deliver a gymnastic workout to build up the weakest of cores – or if you really want to toughen up, look to the Marbella Fight School to try your hand at combat exercise including wrestling and MMA (mixed martial arts). Fans of Korean martial arts are spoilt for choice with two Taikwando centres in the Poligono that feature classes for beginners as well as more experienced practitioners.

Cars and more
As is typical in an industrial zone, mechanics are to be found in abundance here, with one of the friendliest being Confort Auto. Other workshops are available, or for specialist enthusiasts, House of Classic Cars is well worth a visit if only to check out their beautiful old cars from a bygone age of elegance and style. If modern vehicles are more your style, Happy Cars has a wide range of second hand cars for sale or visit one of the many showrooms for popular manufacturers such as Namarauto a Mercedes centre, or Safamotor for VWs. If your taste runs to two-wheeled vehicles, Matt Black will do a custom contract according to your wishes in their prominent workshop. Once your car or bike is up and running, it’s worth noting that the ITV (MOT) station is also situated here for your annual revision.

Furniture for everyone
Imperial Furniture’s more than thirty years in business attests to both the quality of their products and great customer care that visitors receive in the 2,000-square metre showroom. Ideal Furniture is just around the corner and also has a great range of modern furniture. If, however, you prefer pieces that have been preloved with a little character, the Flea Market is just the place – a double warehouse with an eclectic range of second hand, vintage and antique furniture, rugs and paintings – who knows what you may find?! If you’re furnishing a home, you may also need white goods – ElectroChollo has an extensive warehouse with many brands at great prices.

This is just a snapshot of the many amenities to be found in the Poligono, take a look for yourself in this Aladdin’s cave of goods and services!
