The Local Police reopens its doors in the centre of San Pedro Alcántara to bring its services closer to the residents
Having previously been closed down by the local government 4 years ago, the Councilor for Security, José Eduardo Díaz was pleased to visit the re-opened local police station in the town centre accompanied by Marbella mayor Angeles Muñoz.
Muñoz confirmed that “Local Police in San Pedro is made up of a hundred agents, who will be able to serve citizens more closely.” It is located on Calle Marqués del Duero, next to the current Tourism office. It was announced that this was the ideal place for the station, although they will still maintain the office at the industrial estate. The main customer focused one however will be in the town centre where it is better placed and more accessible to attend to the citizens. The mayor stressed that the initiative has been very well received by both residents and the commercial establishments.
For his part, the sub-inspector Miguel Ángel Benítez, who will be in charge of the office, has assured that it was necessary to have more direct attention to citizens to avoid travel to the premises in the industrial estate.
