New webcams for San Pedro

The City Council is introducing three webcams in San Pedro Alcántara to support the travel industry by showing the town’s attractions and weather to potential visitors. Javier García, the deputy mayor of San Pedro clarified recently that two of the cameras will be situated in the main Marqués del Duero street and placed on the boulevard.

García also mentioned that the town hall needs to keep finding ways of advancing San Pedro Alcántara, in order to make the town more attractive to visitors and therefore increase local business. He also focused on, “we are developing an important commitment to innovation and new technologies in order to achieve higher visitor numbers locally and therefore encourage greater economic activity.”

The third camera will be introduced on the San Pedro beach with the focal point being the sea as a reference for surfers in the region. “Surfers and other beach users will be able to see the real state of the sea and the conditions for water sports.”

The three cameras, which will soon be accessed through the municipal website, are in addition to other gadgets that have been set in the Marina of Marbella. “One of the objectives of this initiative is to show what we can offer visitors throughout the year and not just in the summer months. It is aimed at informing locals about the weather, visitors and even hotels and tour operators,” said Garcia.
